Corporate Gifts Under $50 That People Keep Using (Checked by 20 HR Execs)

Przemyslaw Wojtyla·

Corporate gifts pass or fail on one question: would the person have bought it themselves?

Almost nothing in a standard merch catalog clears that bar. A branded pen is not a gift, it is a reminder that someone had a budget line to spend.

We asked 20 HR leaders what their teams kept using after the first week. Five things came up again and again, all of them under $50, all available with your logo on them.

1. Scrolly

A small device you tap your phone against. Distracting apps shut off until you tap it again.

It is a focus tool more than a wellness one. The pitch to a team is simple: fewer interruptions during the hours that matter, without anyone policing anyone’s screen time.

Why it landed with HR teams:

  • It solves something people complain about out loud, which is rare for a gift
  • It works the same for a developer in deep work and a salesperson between calls
  • The effect shows up in the workday, not in a quarterly wellbeing report

Around 15,000 people use one. On average, they get back about 93 minutes a day and pick up their phones less than half as often.

They offer discounts on bulk orders of up to 40%. Logo customization and bulk pricing are on the Scrolly for Business page.

2. A good notebook

Still works, but only in companies where people take notes in meetings. If your team lives in Notion, skip this one.

Two things most buyers get wrong:

  • Deboss, do not print. Costs about the same, looks more expensive, and does not scrub off after six months in a bag.
  • A5, not A4. The smaller one goes in the backpack. The bigger one goes in a drawer.

The brand on the cover matters less than the paper inside. Cheap paper bleeds through, and that is the thing people notice on day one.

3. Orbitkey Desk Mat

The best gift on this list for hybrid and remote teams, because it lands somewhere your logo gets seen daily without anyone carrying it around.

It also does not compete with anything an employee already owns. Most people have a water bottle. Almost nobody has already bought a desk mat.

Ask for branding on the edge rather than the center. Centered logos are the reason desk mats get flipped over.

4. Drinkware

The most ordered corporate gift and the most saturated one. The average person on your team already has two or three bottles sitting in a cupboard.

It still works in three situations:

  • Onboarding kits, where it is the first physical thing a new hire gets
  • Conferences and offsites, where everyone needs one that day
  • Companies where people genuinely wear the brand

If you go this route: laser engraving on steel, not print. Print comes off in the dishwasher, and most suppliers quote print by default because it is cheaper for them.

One more thing - order a color outside the standard palette. A black bottle with a logo is invisible. A deep green one gets picked up.

5. Power bank

Best fit for sales teams, field staff, and anyone who spends real time at airports.

The number that matters is capacity. Below 10,000 mAh it stops being useful and starts being another cable drawer resident.

Flat surface, so it takes a logo better than almost anything else in this price range.

What these five have in common

They are simple. Useful straight away.

Before you order

A few things that save money and panic in Q4:

  • Minimum order quantities in this price range usually start around 25-50 units. [zweryfikować dla finalnej piątki]
  • Lead times double in November. If this is a holiday gift, the decision happens in September.

Next steps

Any of these five beats another branded pen.

Pick the one that fits how your team works, order early, and keep the logo.
